It’s been another year of excellent pre-university results for Cognita students around the world, despite uncertainty due to Covid-19. We’ve seen increases in A Level results while our IB schools are also celebrating success this year. Meanwhile national pre-university exam results in Chile and Brazil saw standout results for Cognita schools, with several in the top 100 schools for their country.

Among our highlights this year:
- Exceptional A Level performance at A/A*, far exceeding the UK national average of 27%, including:
- 68% A/A* at North Bridge House Canonbury in London, including student Taha with 3 A*s (see pictured above with Executive Headteacher, Brendan Pavey);
- 50% A*/A grades at St Clare’s School in Wales with Head Girl Alys and Head Boy Ben also receiving 3 A*s;
- 46% A/A* at the British School of Barcelona and El Limonar International School Murcia
- 48% A/A* at Hastings School in Madrid
- 60% A/A* at The English Montessori School in Madrid
- Highlights of our IB results earlier this summer include:
- A mean score of 32.2 for Cognita’s seven IB schools, compared to the global mean of just 29.9
- 25 students achieving the coveted 40+ score
- In Brazil, Cognita schools Instituto GayLussac and Pingo de Gente & Laviniense are in Brazil’s top 100 schools for national exam (Enem) results
- Similarly in Chile, national exam (PSU) results for Colegio San Fancisco Javier, Colegio Pumahue Peñalolén and Colegio Pumahue Huechuraba place them in Chile’s top 100
Simon Camby, Group Education Director for Cognita, said: “Given the difficult circumstances this year, it has been fantastic to see such a great set of results, which is testament to the hard work and dedication of our students and teachers.”
He continued: “Supporting our students through the last few months in particular has been our top priority, focusing very firmly on their wellbeing through regular check-ins and encouraging them to look beyond results day. We wish them every success in whatever they decide to do next.”
