Cognita is pleased to announce Stamford American School Hong Kong’s continued growth and investment in world-class education with the launch of a proposed second campus in West Kowloon. Strategically positioned in the vibrant Olympic district, this purpose-built, harbourfront learning space is designed to elevate pre-university education and is targeted to open in Fall 2025, pending successful registration.

Located at No. 10 Hoi Fai Road in Tai Kok Tsui, the highly anticipated new campus will span approximately 75,000 square feet across three state-of-the-art levels, exclusively designed for around 550 high school students (Grades 9-12).

This expansion reinforces Stamford’s commitment to academic excellence, culminating in the prestigious International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). The launch of this campus marks a significant milestone, reflecting the rising demand for outstanding international education in Hong Kong and supporting both local families and global talent seeking a high-quality academic environment.

Andrew Noakes, Head of School at Stamford American School Hong Kong, shares his enthusiasm for this proposed expansion:

In a short time since inception in 2017, Stamford has already earned a reputation for having an innovative STEMInn program and for the quality of our teaching and learning across the board. The launch of our second campus in fall 2025 will be a milestone moment for Stamford as we celebrate our 9th year in Hong Kong. We are determined to unveil a premium, bespoke pre-university campus to mark the occasion, and we have conducted a large-scale user engagement exercise with our faculty, staff, and students to capture their needs and aspirations for this second campus.”

Stamford’s West Kowloon Campus is purpose-built to inspire autonomy, collaboration, and innovation, all key elements in a pre-university education.

Some key features of the proposed campus include:

  • Thoughtful incorporation of design technology, such as circadian lighting and acoustic wall panels, to elevate the learning experience and well-being.
  • Intentional planning and design of communal spaces to turn every area of the school into ‘learning neighborhoods’.
  • Two music studios and four practice rooms for students to hone their musical talents.
  • Two art labs and exhibition space where creativity takes center stage.
  • Dedicated science labs to foster curiosity and experimentation.
  • Two drama studios and a black box theater for immersive artistic performances.
  • Two design and technology labs for hands-on workshops where innovation takes shape.
  • An open auditorium and a harbor-view library and research hub, overlooking the Olympic promenade.

With this strategic expansion, Stamford continues to demonstrate its leadership in international education, reinforcing its mission to nurture globally competent, forward-thinking students ready to thrive in a rapidly evolving world.
