We are thrilled to have been shortlisted for the 2025 EducationInvestor Awards in the ESG & Impact category.

The EducationInvestor Awards aim to reward excellence by shining a light on educational institutions that go above and beyond – whether in ESG, early years, SEN, skills training, or other avenues of learning. Being chosen as finalists for ESG & Impact not only recognises the hard work taking place across our entire schools group: it also acknowledges the impact made by cultivating sustainable operations, responsible learners, and successful communities.

In 2024, ESG remained a key priority for Cognita, with impactful initiatives embedded throughout our schools:

  • 85% of extra-curricular activities focus on environmental sustainability or charitable causes.
  • 86% of school student councils lead charitable initiatives, and 68% drive environmental sustainability efforts.
  • Students have launched e-waste recycling programmes, food distribution initiatives, financial education events, and digital campaigns to support vulnerable communities while developing essential life skills.

At a regional and group level, we have strengthened our partnership with The Sparkle Foundation, supporting teacher development in Malawi and fundraising for schools. And as part of our strategic partnership with RedCol schools in Colombia, the Amparo Programme continues to provide full scholarships for hundreds of low-income students, ensuring access to quality education.

We remain committed to expanding these initiatives, ensuring that sustainability and social impact remain at the heart of our mission in the years ahead.

Cognita’s Head of ESG and Group Ethics & Compliance Officer, Jamie Delaney, commented, “Being named finalists for the EducationInvestor Awards in ESG & Impact is a huge honour. It acknowledges the hard work and commitment of colleagues and students across our whole community who are driving meaningful change every day. At Cognita, we understand that ESG and quality education go hand in hand. Looking ahead, we know that our responsibility goes beyond academic excellence – we must actively contribute to a healthier planet, support our communities, and build a sustainable future for generations to come.”
