Congratulations to Anne McEwan, founder of the British School of Barcelona and Education Advisor for Cognita Spain, who has received an OBE for services to education in the Queen’s 2019 Birthday Honours List.

Anne was awarded her OBE in recognition of her exceptional contribution to the development of British schools in Spain over more than fifty years. On learning of her award, Anne said: “I am so proud and honoured to have been nominated. It has been a privilege for me to work in British schools in Spain, creating opportunities for children and young people of all nationalities to prepare for the future.”

Each year, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) announces 80 awards in recognition of truly exceptional and outstanding service to Britain internationally and overseas. The Honours List recognises extraordinary people in a range of fields including education, charity and voluntary work, child welfare and more.
