51 Cognita schools joined together to do their bit to light up the world on 29th March.

Cognita schools and offices in eight different countries, across three continents, took part in a global #LightUpLearning event by building some 2,500 solar lights they will be donated to children living in energy poverty.

During the ‘Light Up Learning’ day, Cognita students also took part in activities to support their learning about energy poverty, including writing letters to the children who will receive their lights.

Lisa Reid, Librarian at St. Andrews International School, Dusit who organised this year’s project, said: “This is the second year Cognita has partnered with Australian charity SolarBuddy to support children around the world afflicted by energy poverty. Together we more than doubled our inaugural groupwide donation of solar lights to just under 2,500 lights. Cognita is about inspiring a world of education – Team Cognita continues to demonstrate that this resolve extends beyond our own school walls.”
