Students at our British Curriculum schools in the UK and Spain are celebrating another successful year of strong GCSE and A Level results.

In the UK, Cognita students have achieved nearly twice the national average of GCSE grades at the prestigious Grade 9 (9.1% vs 4.7% nationally). This exceptional performance is mirrored at Grades 8+ and 7+ (equivalent to the former Grade A and above).

Subjects with outstanding performance include Maths, with 10% of Cognita students achieving the top Grade 9 compared to the national average of 3.7%, and English Language, with 34% of Cognita students achieving a Grade 7+ compared to an average of 17% nationally. At Akeley Wood Senior School in Buckinghamshire, the sciences dominated, with a fantastic nine out of ten results at Grade 7+.

There was cause to celebrate in Spain too, as 46% of all grades awarded were A*-A. Standout performances came from The British School of Barcelona (BSB) and The English Montessori School (TEMS) in Madrid, where 50% of all grades awarded were at A*-A.

Among the A Level highlights are North Bridge House Senior School & Sixth Form Canonbury in London, whose students significantly outperformed the UK national average, with 32% of A*-A grades compared to 25% nationally.

Students were delighted to secure places at their first-choice universities for onward study, including some of the world’s top academic institutions such as University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, Imperial College London and University College London.
