Founded in 1954, Instituto GayLussac serves children aged 2 to 18 in Niteroi and is one of the most prestigious independent schools in Brazil.
National rankings of university access tests (ENEM) place Instituto GayLussac within the top 50 schools in the country and the leading school in Niteroi, which is located in the state of Rio de Janeiro. The school has some 1,400 students and operates the Brazilian curriculum, in Portuguese, combined with an optional English language bilingual stream.

Luiza Sassi
Principal
Luiza has worked at Instituto GayLussac for almost 30 years and has been Head since 2013. She holds a Psychology degree from the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, an Education degree from the Federal Fluminense University, a Master’s degree in Psychology (Clinical Psychology) from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) specialising in Human Resources from Fundação Getúlio Vargas/RJ.
