How to reduce stress and enhance learning for our youngest students
With parents citing ‘stress’ as their biggest concern for 2019, Christine McLelland, Head of North Bridge House Nursery and Pre-Prep in the UK, explains how they are providing young students with a ‘safe haven’ in central London.
Happiness is the key to successful learning – particularly in the formative years of education – and we are committed to providing children with an enjoyable learning experience, which both reduces the stress they face and teaches them how to deal with it.
The process of exam preparation can be very bruising for a child. We have seen competent children crumble under the pressure which further diminished their interest in learning and knocked their self-esteem. So, we track progress in a stress-free, entrance exam-free environment with a progress test series by GL Assessment.
We further enhance student learning and enjoyment of time at school through Philosophy for Children (P4C) and our school pets which have been fantastic for the social and emotional development of the children.
